Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is a program designed to help participants manage concerns about falls and increase their activity levels through practical strategies.

Participants will learn to:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance

This program is intended for anyone who is concerned about falling, has fallen in the past, has restricted activities because of falling concerns, or wants to improve their balance, flexibility and strength.

Dates: Thursdays, September 24 – November 12
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Location: Church of the Palms

Classes are two hours long and meet once per week for eight weeks. Participants must attend at least five of the eight classes to graduate.
