Join Us for Child Safety Day at DOH Sarasota
The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-Sarasota) is hosting Child Safety Day, Friday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the main lobby of the William L. Little Health and Human Services Center, located at 2200 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34237.
This event is timed to honor National Concussion Awareness Day. Injuries remain the leading cause of death in children, and prevention is key. Families are invited to stop by and take advantage of free resources and hands-on safety activities designed to keep kids safe and healthy.
Event Highlights
· Free bicycle helmet fittings and distributions
· Car seat safety checks to ensure proper installation
· Drowning prevention resources for parents and caregivers
· Safe sleep information for babies and young children
Child Safety Day is hosted in partnership with Safe Kids Florida Suncoast, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota County, and MCR Health. Together, we are committed to helping families prevent injuries and promote safe, healthy environments for children of all ages.
September is also recognized as Baby Safety Month, making this an important time to shine a spotlight on keeping children safe at home, on the road, and at play.
