Health insurance enrollment event on Nov. 16 

SARASOTA FL – The deadline for enrollment in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace for coverage in 2016 is January 31, 2016. A Health Insurance Enrollment Fair will be held at Selby Public Library, 1331 First St. in Sarasota on Monday, Nov. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations are strongly encouraged to ensure timely service. You can reserve a time by calling 941-961-8575. Certified Application Counselors and Navigators will be available to assist you with understanding your 2016 health coverage options.

A recent local assessment showed that of those 18-44 years old, 46 percent lack health care coverage. This is an opportunity for these residents to get needed coverage. When you apply for coverage or renew on the Health Insurance Marketplace, you’ll need to provide some information about you and your household; including income, any insurance you currently have, and some additional items.

You will need to bring the following to the Enrollment Fair:

• ID information for all members of your family (age, Social Security numbers, or legal permanent resident/green card or visa numbers.)
  
• Income for all family members because you will have to estimate your 2016 family income to get your financial assistance (pay stub or tax forms, or other documents showing income.)
  
• Information about insurance offered through your job or your spouse’s job, even if you don’t take it, including how much it costs for a single plan.
