DOH-Sarasota's Environmental Health office promotes Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM is a way to control pests in the least harmful way. IPM combines proven ways to prevent and kill pests favoring non-chemical methods when possible. When chemical pesticides are necessary, IPM favors the selection of those that are least harmful to people and the environment.
