The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program is a federally-funded supplemental nutrition program. WIC supports Florida families by providing:
- Healthy foods
- Breastfeeding support
- Nutrition education
- Referrals to other services
Families are screened for nutritional risk and income eligibility. Licensed nutritionists and nutrition educators determine eligibility and provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and education to assist families in making healthier nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle choices.
How WIC Works

Income Eligibility
Income eligibility guidelines require a total household income equal to or less than the amounts shown in the WIC income guidelines OR you are income-eligible if you are currently receiving Medicaid, temporary cash assistance (TCA), or food assistance. However, you do not have to be on a public assistance program to qualify for WIC.
WIC Income Eligibility Based on Income Intervals

Nutritious Foods and Support for families
Florida’s WIC Program provides vouchers for nutritious food purchased at authorized stores. Clients purchase the food at WIC-authorized retailers using a WIC EBT card.
The food package tailored for the individual client is loaded onto the EBT card at the WIC office during certification and nutrition education follow-up appointments.
If you have difficulty understanding English or have a disability, free language assistance or other aids and services are available upon request.
