Mr. Henry has served with the Florida Department of Health since 2002 and assumed his current role, as the DOH-Sarasota Health Officer, in 2011. Prior to working for the Department, Mr. Henry served for twenty-four years in the U. S. Navy, service that included combat medical support to U. S. Marine forces as a Hospital Corpsman, and service as a Commissioned Officer in the Medical Service Corps.   

Mr. Henry holds an undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Public Administration, (Health Care Administration) from Troy State University. He is a graduate of the National Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute, an active member of the Florida Public Health Association, and a Past President and current Board Member of the Florida Environmental Health Association.   

Mr. Henry is proud to serve his community as a public health leader and advocate.
